In the 2 nd World Summit on the Information Society held in Tunisia 2005, was proposed declare 17 May as World Day of the Information Society (or Day of the Internet) to promote Internet use.
The objective of this celebration is to get the whole of society has the opportunity to know and experience how the Internet can help improve their quality of life.
The Internet Day is an open channel to the community to bring the possibility of using the Internet in everyday life, from the field of study, entertainment, information, media, electronic commerce, etc. It also shows the social role that can have internet, overcoming physical barriers.
This year, the main chambers and institutions of the sector proposed the development of the following topics of interest:
